Changing lives and giving HOPE for tomorrow!

We deeply appreciate your donation.

Bucky Memorial Emergency Fund

Bucky was purchased with the hope that he would become a future service dog, and a future stud dog for HSD and for other service dog non-profit organizations. We brought Bucky home and within a month, he was at the emergency veterinarian because something was wrong.

UF Vet School diagnosed him with liver dysfunction, portosystemic shunt, pulmonic stenosis, sub aortic stenosis, mitral valve dysplasia, along with congenital hip dysplasia. With these congenital liver, heart, and hip issues, he was no longer a future stud dog, or future service dog. There was a possible shunt surgery, if his heart was able to handle it. However, he was not able to tolerate anesthesia for either, because of the liver issues.

Bucky was the unofficial welcomer for people who came to HSD. He loved everyone, and made sure they knew it.

A very generous benefactor donated towards Bucky’s care before he passed. They said he made such an impact during the short time they spent together, that they wanted to cover all of his medical costs. That donation is now a part of the Bucky Memorial Emergency Fund.

Thank you, to all who loved Bucky, for making his short life filled with love and happiness.
