Pet Dog Training

Helping Good Dogs Become Great Companions

Not every dog needs to become a service dog.

Sometimes you simply want a dog who listens, walks nicely on a leash, settles when asked, comes when called, and knows how to behave in the real world.

At Hope Service Dogs, our professional trainers bring the same thoughtful, structured approach we use in our service dog program to pet dogs and their families.

Our goal is simple:

A well-trained dog makes everyday life better for everyone.

Private Dog Training

$150 / 90-Minute Session

Private training gives you one-on-one time with an experienced HSD trainer and a training plan designed specifically for you and your dog.

Sessions can address:

  • Puppy foundations

  • Basic obedience

  • Leash walking

  • Recall

  • Impulse control

  • Settling and calm behavior

  • Household manners

  • Public manners

  • Distraction training

  • Training challenges and problem behaviors

Our focus isn't just on teaching your dog what to do.

We'll also teach you how to continue the training between sessions.

Immersion Board & Train

$6,500 — 5 Weeks

For dogs who need a more intensive training experience, our five-week immersion board-and-train program provides concentrated professional training while your dog lives with our training team.

Training is customized to your dog's age, temperament, existing skills, and goals.

Depending on your dog's needs, training may include:

  • Obedience

  • Leash manners

  • Recall

  • Impulse control

  • Focus and engagement

  • Environmental confidence

  • Distraction resistance

  • Appropriate social behavior

  • Public manners

  • Household skills

  • Real-world training

Your dog will also experience training in a variety of appropriate real-world environments rather than spending the entire program in a training facility.

The Transition Home Matters

Board-and-train isn't meant to be a magic handoff.

Your dog may learn a tremendous amount while they are with our trainers, but you are the person who will live with and work with your dog every day.

That's why our immersion program includes support to help you transition the training into your home and everyday life.

You'll receive:

  • Professional training

  • Training resources

  • Photo and video updates

  • Handler coaching

  • A 30-day transition period with trainer support

The goal is not simply to send home a trained dog.

It's to help you become a successful team.

Is Pet Training Right for Your Dog?

Our pet training programs may be appropriate for dogs who need help with obedience, manners, confidence, impulse control, or other everyday training challenges.

Before accepting a dog into an immersion program, we evaluate the dog to determine whether the program is appropriate and what type of training plan will be most beneficial.

Not every dog needs board-and-train.

Sometimes a few private sessions are exactly what you need.

Training for Real Life

We believe dogs should be able to use their training outside of the training room.

That means practicing skills around appropriate distractions, in different environments, and in situations that resemble everyday life.

Because the goal isn't a dog who behaves perfectly only when the trainer is standing beside them.

The goal is a dog who knows how to behave when you are.
