Hope for the Future Scholarships
Helping More People Access Service Dog Education
At Hope Service Dogs, we believe that education is one of the most powerful ways to improve the lives of people with disabilities and their service dogs.
Professional service dog training can be expensive and difficult to access.
The Hope for the Future Scholarship Program helps make service dog education more accessible by providing scholarships for qualifying educational opportunities.
Education. Training. Hope for the Future.
What Do the Scholarships Provide?
Hope for the Future Scholarships are intended to provide service dog education and training opportunities.
Depending on the scholarship being offered, opportunities may include:
Online Service Dog Education
Scholarships for the Service Dog Success online course with Victoria Warfel.
This program provides education for people who are training—or considering training—a service dog.

In-Person Training Opportunities
When an in-person service dog training school is offered, HSD may provide scholarships for eligible participants.
Availability and requirements for in-person scholarships vary by event.
Who Can Apply?
Scholarships are intended for individuals who are actively training, or seriously considering training, a service dog.
HSD puppy owners and service dog candidates may receive priority, but we encourage other qualified service dog handlers and owner-trainers to apply when scholarships are available.
Scholarship eligibility and requirements may vary depending on the specific opportunity.
An Important Note
A scholarship does not provide a puppy.
Hope for the Future Scholarships are for education and training opportunities only.
They do not provide a service dog, puppy, or financial reimbursement for purchasing a dog.
HSD's Puppy Program Scholarship
We believe education should extend beyond the dogs we place.
For every HSD puppy who participates in one of our Puppy Programs, HSD donates an additional online Service Dog Success scholarship to another service dog candidate.
That means one puppy's training can help another person learn how to train their own service dog.
One puppy. Two opportunities to learn.
How Scholarships Work
When a scholarship opportunity is available:
1. Apply
Submit the scholarship application for the specific opportunity.
2. Applications Are Reviewed
HSD reviews applications based on the requirements established for that scholarship.
3. A Recipient Is Selected
The selected recipient is notified and provided with instructions for using the scholarship.
4. Complete the Program
Scholarships must be used for the specific educational opportunity for which they were awarded.
Scholarships are not transferable to future sessions or other programs.
Our Goal
Our goal is to continue expanding the Hope for the Future Scholarship Program as resources allow.
We would love to provide more opportunities for service dog handlers and owner-trainers to access professional education, develop their skills, and build stronger working partnerships with their dogs.
Because better educated handlers create better service dog teams.
Scholarship Stories
Over the years, HSD has been fortunate to provide scholarships to service dog handlers and owner-trainers.
A Look Back
